Jeff Rum, Founder + CEO

An award-winning digital strategist, educator and public speaker, Jeff Rum has nearly 15 years experience in digital strategy, branding, and marketing. Prior to founding Ignite, he served as President and Chief Marketing Officer at SPARK Experience, a user experience (UX) research and design agency in Bethesda, Maryland.

Jeff served as a digital consultant with The White House, United Nations Foundation, Human Rights Campaign and the Elizabeth Edwards Foundation. During his tenure at SPARK, Jeff also led digital campaigns and special projects with Pepsi, AAA, National Mining Association, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Profiled in SmartCEO Magazine and an online panelist for CMSWire, Jeff has been a featured speaker on digital marketing at regional and national conferences including Social Media Week. He regularly guest lectures at The George Washington University’s School of Business on topics including digital marketing and social media strategy.

Additionally, Jeff is a contributor to the updated version of Letting Go of the Words by Janice (Ginny) Redish, a world-renowned author and content specialist.

Jeff received his BA from American University in Communication: Visual Media and Jewish Studies. He received his MA from Georgetown University in International Studies. He resides in Bethesda, MD with his wife Jessica and two children, Eva and Maxim.


Sarah sicherman, managing director

A passionate marketing professional, Sarah has spent nearly 10 years working with startups, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses.  

Prior to joining Ignite, Sarah served as Assistant Director of Marketing at The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. She managed a team of designers, marketing professionals, and consultants. 

Sarah has experience leading projects including brand and messaging development, website design, as well as digital campaigns and initiatives.

Her role at Ignite includes project management, development, and managing partner relationships. Sarah also manages membership at Ignite Academy, a year-round educational institute in the areas of digital marketing and communication.

Sarah's greatest strengths are her creativity, ability to problem solve, and leadership skills, which she looks forward to bringing to the Ignite team. 

Sarah received her B.S. in Sociology from Goucher College and resides in Silver Spring, MD with her husband, Jon and three children, Shimmy, Kayla, and Haddie.


Jessica Walton, Digital Marketing Specialist

Jessica Walton is a digital marketing specialist with a diverse background in public affairs and communications. She is also a strong writer (who wears strong reading glasses) with a portfolio that includes marketing and social media content, blog posts, press releases, news articles, and a book.

Prior to joining the Ignite team, Jessica was a project manager and marketing writer for RISCO Group, a global hi-tech company based in Israel that develops security and smart home systems. She has also worked as an account manager for Scopus Security Solutions, initiating PR and social media campaigns to penetrate new markets in Eastern Europe and Australia while managing client relations. As an independent consultant for the Government Press Office in Jerusalem, Jessica wrote speeches for government officials and conducted media feedback sessions to improve conference activities with the foreign press.

Jessica received her M.A. in Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, and is currently pursuing an additional M.A. in Public Relations/Corporate Communications at Georgetown University with a focus on digital media strategy and management. She currently resides in Potomac, Maryland.
